MICE business in Thailand growing well

BANGKOK, January 7 (TNA) - The meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) business in Thailand has kept growing well, expected to earn the Kingdom about 100.50 billion baht this year. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), told journalists of the information on Monday, assessing that the country should attract about 1.3 million international MICE clients this year, which should earn the national income of about 100.50 billion baht. The TCEB president said that the projected figures are based on the assumption that the Thai economy should grow by at least 3.7 per cent year-on-year in 2019. To promote and support the growing MICE business in Thailand, the TCEB president revealed that his bureau will organize roadshows overseas in mid-2019 to draw in more MICE clients into the country. According to the TCEB president, targeted areas overseas where his bureau plans to organize roadshows later this year include major cities in the United Kingdom and the United States. (TNA)
