BANGKOK, Dec 13 (TNA) Worries over drought condition which would hit parts of Thailand next year, the Industry Ministry will ask factories to be more cautious in releasing waste water. Arthit Wuthikaro, permanent secretary for Industry said the Industrial Works Department will inform some 300 factories to monitor dissolved oxygen before discharging the water to lessen the impact on the river. Meanwhile, factories in the North, the Northeast and the central region are expected to face high risks of water shortage in 2016 because not much water is stored in major dams. Mr. Arthit said the Department would also encourage factories to consume lesser amount of water and to treat water to be reused. Factories which have large compound will be advised to dig storage ponds and artesian wells so that they could use water during dry season. (TNA)
