Moody's Confirms Ratings Of MISC, Petronas LNG

KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Bernama) -- Moody's Investors Service has confirmed the 'Baa2' issuer rating of MISC Bhd and the 'A3' issuer rating of Petronas LNG Ltd, with stable outlook. In a statement Friday, Moody's said, the ratings came after the confirmation of rating of their parent company, Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), at 'A1' with a stable outlook. "Our review is focused on the assessment of implications on parental support for both companies on the back of a deterioration of the parent company's credit strength," it said. Moody's said Petronas LNG's rating was positioned two notches below Petronas', reflecting Petronas LNG's full ownership by Petronas plus its strong operational and financial integration with the parent company. "MISC's rating, on the converse, incorporates a three-notch uplift from strong support provided by Petronas," it said. -- BERNAMA
