More rooms seen for Thai instant noodle in China

NONTHABURI, THAILAND, December 26 (TNA) - The Ministry of Commerce says that Thai instant noodle has become popular among consumers in China, suggesting there are more rooms for the Thai product in the immense Chinese market. Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, Director-General of the ministry's Department of International Trade Promotion, made the remarks on Tuesday, after assigning the Thai commercial envoy in China to conduct a survey on the Thai instant noodle in China. Chantira acknowledged the recent survey found that Thailand-brand instant noodle, with different favors, has been very popular among consumers in China, where its marketing channels include the shelves of leading supermarkets and online platforms. Chantira, however, urged producers of Thai instant noodle to further upgrade their products, through now focusing on healthier and natural ingredients, as well as more diversified favors, to meet the changing demand of modern Chinese consumers. The senior official foresaw growing sale volumes and values, on the sustainable basis, of the Thai instant noodle in the Chinese market as of 2018 if local manufacturers were upgrading their produce, as suggested.
