Mwani Qatar, Pelindo 1 Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Doha, February 25 (QNA) - Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Pelindo 1) on port cooperation. The MoU aims to exchange practices and experiences in port operation and management, enhance communication on investment and promotion, innovative technologies, promote logistics, trade, and exchange of information technology, explore initiatives and others. CEO of Mwani Qatar Captain Abdulla Al Khanji and President Director of Pelindo 1 Bambang Eka Cahyana signed the MoU. On this occasion, Captain Abdulla Al Khanji expressed pleasure to sign the MoU, stressing that it constitutes an important beginning towards enhancing partnership opportunities, developing business and benefiting from the technical expertise and capabilities of both parties. Mwani Qatar CEO added that this cooperation will contribute to realizing the company's plans to strengthen the leadership of Hamad Port regionally and internationally through the application of best practices and international standards as well as ensuring global operational efficiency levels in its operations to stimulate trade, support investment, and economic diversification to achieve the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. Indonesia's Pelindo 1 is one of the largest port operators and logistics in Indonesia. It is a state-owned company that manages the western part of Indonesia's ports, which includes 17 ports spread across four provinces, including Aceh, North Sumatra, and the Riau Islands, and the company has six subsidiaries. The Indonesian delegation, which is visiting Qatar with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, toured Hamad Port, where it learned about the port facilities, marine docks, container terminals, facilities, and services.
