No Fatalities In Dubai Airport Drama Involving Emirates

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Two Malaysians were among 282 passengers and 18 crew aboard an Emirates aircraft that crash landed at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday. Emirates on its Facebook page confirmed that there were no fatalities in the incident involving flight EK521 travelling from Trivandrum International Airport in Thiruvananthapuram, India, to Dubai. "All passengers and crew are accounted for and safe," Emirates said, describing what happened as an 'operational incident upon landing'. The carrier said those aboard the Boeing 777 plane came from India (226); United Kingdom (24); United Arab Emirates (11); United States and Saudi Arabia (six respectively); Turkey (five); Ireland (four); two each from Australia, Brazil, Germany, Malaysia and Thailand; and one each from Croatia, Egypt, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Lebanon, Philippines, South Africa, Switzerland and Tunisia.
