Official: $400b Iran Investment Plans To Be Introduced In China

Beijing, Dec 3, IRNA – Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Behrouz Alishiri said Iran is to introduce investment plans worth dlrs 400 billion in China. Talking to IRNA at the sidelines of the two-day 4th China Overseas Investment Fair here Monday, he said the event is an opportunity for all world countries including China to become familiar with Iran’s capacities. Noting that the volume of China’s foreign investments and trade has steadily risen to dlrs 70 billion, he said the Beijing exhibition is a chance for Iran to absorb Chinese investments. The official stressed that Iran could not stay as a consumer of Chinese productions for ever and it has to use chances of making investments by attracting China’s investors. Pointing to the warm welcome Iranian pavilion has received, he further stressed that Iran has introduced its oil, gas, petrochemicals and other economic capacities to the participants in the fair. The 4th China Overseas Investment Fair which opened here on Monday will focus on the investment capabilities in the fields of gas and oil, mineral resources, industries and tourism. Tens of companies and organizations from different world countries are attending the economic event. The worth of Iran-China trade exchanges stood at 45 billion dollars last year. The figure is expected to reach 55 billion dollars in the current year./end
