Organic and Natural Expo 2014 to be held in Bangkok July 24-27

BANGKOK, July 17 (TNA) - Thailand's Organic and Natural Expo 2014, set to be held in Bangkok from July 24-27, is expected to attract at least 50,000 international visitors and to generate more than 15 million baht revenues totally. Thai Commerce Ministry Spokesman Boonyarit Kalayanamitr told journalists that the four-day expo, the largest of its kind in the country, will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, in which locally-made organic and natural products and services will be showcased at over 200 booths. The spokesman said that the Thai products and services to be showcased at the grand event include rice, processed food products, herbs, cosmetics, clothes, spa products and green hotels. According to the spokesman, the upcoming event will also provide a stage for local farmers and producers, as well as consumers to exchange experiences on the full-circle of organic farming, from the production to standard certifications, marketing and value-added processes to meet market demand and to boost competitiveness of local farmers and producers. The spokesman acknowledged that the four-day expo will also be a platform for promoting and publicising brand image of Thai organic products internationally. Meanwhile, the world market for organic products and services is now worth around 64 billion US dollars or 2 trillion baht, with the United States being the largest consuming country for organic products and services, while demand for the products and services in other economies, namely China, has been growing considerably, providing more rooms for Thai producers and exporters of the products and services.
