OT recognized for creating jobs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Oyu Tolgoi LLC Wednesday reported it was recognized as the leading creator of jobs among international investors in Mongolia. The award was made at the biannual Silk Road awards organized Tuesday by the Mongolian Chamber of Trade and Industry. The event recognizes investors who contribute to the economic and social development of Mongolia. The mine, which commenced shipments of copper concentrates in the summer, continues to create jobs and support economic development. Research and Development Metallurgist, D.Budragchaa, joined OT in 2003. He remains a proud part of the 90 percent Mongolian workforce that exists at the mine today. He says,"I am proud to be one part of the huge number of people who have turned OT from a development project into an operating mine. We have successfully completed construction and become a company which creates value by producing and exporting copper concentrate." Before joining the business, D.Budrragchaa trained as a chemical engineer and metallurgist. He is responsible for testing OT’s copper concentrate to determine its quality before it is sold to customers. He was recently nominated by his colleagues as one of the company’s employees of the year, 2013. After collecting the Silk Road award, OT Human Resources Superintendent, J.Erdenebileg said they are delighted to receive the Silk Road award. "We are proud to have a positive impact on the economy and creating jobs is just one part of that".
