Over 10,000 pirated goods seized in Thai Northeast

UBON RATCHATHANI, Feb 3 (TNA) - Officers of Thailand's Department of Special Investigation (DSI) impounded more than 10,000 pirated CDs, VCDs and DVDs in downtown Ubon Ratchathani Province in the Thai Northeast on Friday. DSI chief Tharit Pengdit told a press conference that the pirated products were seized from the Nikon Market, where there were 5-6 shops selling the counterfeit DVDs, VCDs and CDs, saying the officers also discovered that the shops had distributed counterfeit goods to other northeastern provinces. The DSI chief revealed that three traders of the fake goods were arrested red-handed with the counterfeit products and confessed to have acquired the pirated goods from domestic sources, and that the DSI officers are tracking down those involved who have remained at large.(TNA)
