Over 9,000 Thai business operators take part in campaign for good governance
BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) - The Ministry of Commerce's Department of Business Development says more than 9,000 business operators across Thailand have taken part in an official campaign on good governance and anti-corruption in the local business sector, reflecting a success of the initiative.
The department's director-general, Ittipol Changlam, announced the achievement Saturday, noting that his department has continued providing trainings for local business operators in order to promote good governance and anti-corruption in their businesses.
Ittipol told journalists that the official campaign, is aimed to underscore the importance of good governance and anti-corruption in running businesses and to expand a network of Thai business operators who share common practices, as part of his ministry’s policy on promoting Thailand's sustainable economic growth and credibility of the local business sector in order to support the Thai economy to become a regional hub for foreign direct investment (FDI).
According to the senior official, a culture of good governance will also be created in the Thai business sector.
As Thailand will become part of a single community of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) by 2015, the senior official acknowledged that his department will keep providing trainings for new businesses so that they can become part of the desirable culture. (TNA)
