Panasonic Celebrates 100 Millionth Compressor

SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Panasonic Appliances Air Conditioning Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Papamy), a producer of air conditioners and compressors, Saturday celebrated the production of its 100 millionth compressor. Managing Director Hiroyuki Iwaki said the company is optimistic of higher compressor production on aggressive market expansion in Asia including Japan and China. "Papamy has grown step by step, and is becoming a stronger company with production forecast to rise 117 per cent (by quantity) for the 2016 financial year. "Panasonic compressors are produced specifically for air conditioners, with 70 per cent of sales for the Panasonic brand and 30 per cent for other brands," he said at a celebration marking the the production of the company's 100 millionth compressor here Saturday. Since beginning operations in 1972, Papamy has consolidated its position in Malaysia in its efforts to become the world's foremost producer of air conditioners and compressors. "Panasonic holds strongly to our founder's philosophy of building and developing our manpower before coming up with products through a strong team culture, and this approach has contributed to this excellence.
