Parliament adopts amendments to 2008 budget

Astana, 25 October 2008, (Khabar) - The Senate deputies have adopted
amendments suggested by the government to the republican budget and the main
financial document was specified with an increase of 607 billion tenge. The
extra money was attracted as a special transfer from the National Fund and
is directed at the replenishment of the "Samruk Kazyna" National Capital
Fund's charter capital.

Umirzak Shukeyev, prime-minister of RK:
- This charter capital will be mainly used for the continuation of
infrastructural and huge production projects which will be considered both
by internal corporate bodies and on the state commission in the government
and the decisions under these projects will be taken at a governmental
level. So, this multistep system of considerations excludes the possibility
of misuse.

The bill supposes funds for forming of foundations of stress assets. About
52 billion tenge will be spent for expenditures. The Minister for Economy
said the amendments are introduced according to the instructions of head of
the state and must help to over pass consequences of world financial
crisis. Senators approved the bill and noted importance of well-time
corrections.
