PM:Thai tourist sites are safe for Pokemon Go players

BANGKOK, August 9 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha says that all tourist destinations in Thailand are safe for players of a most popular reality game now, Pokemon Go, which has been recently introduced to the country. The prime minister told journalists on Tuesday that an idea to use Pokemon Go to promote the Thai tourism should not have any problem, as locations to be allowed to play the reality game will be limited to only safe areas. The Thai premier's comments were in response to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports' recent proposal that Pokemon Go be used to woo more international visitors to tourist sites nationwide. The prime minister, however, expressed his concerns over the safety and inappropriateness of playing the game, as there are no laws or regulations to prevent the game provider from providing the service. Stressing although he cannot prohibit anyone from playing the game either, the Thai leader asked for cooperation from the game provider to help set only areas where players could go safely and appropriately, excluding, for example, Government House, other government offices and educational institutes. Besides, the prime minister suggested people to be more careful while playing the reality game and to avoid areas at risk, as well as play the game at only appropriate times. (TNA)
