Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth is richest in SET

BANGKOK, Dec 9 (TNA) -- Dr Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth, founder of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Pcl that runs Bangkok Hospital, remains as the richest man in the Stock Exchange of Thailand for the third year this year while his family is the richest there for the first time. Money & Banking Magazine and the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy of Chulalongkorn University reported the rankings of the richest in the SET based on shareholders’ records by Sept 30. The value of Dr Prasert’s shares amounted to 62.36 billion baht, up 7.69% or 4.45 billion baht from last year. The second richest is Thongma Vijitpongpun, chairman of Pruksa Real Estate Pcl with 35.28 billion baht worth of stocks dropping by 6.30 billion baht, followed by Somphote Ahunai of Energy Absolute Pcl that produces biodiesel and solar power with 32.49 billion baht worth of shares, down by 4.07 billion baht, Keeree Kanjanapas, chairman of BTS Group Holdings Pcl with 32.21 billion baht falling by 6.99 billion baht, and Anant Asavabhokin, chairman of Land & Houses Pcl with 23.02 billion falling by 1.76 billion. The Prasarttong-Osoth family is the richest in the SET for the first time with 88.09 billion baht, rising by 34.86% or 22.77 billion baht. It sends Chirathivat family, the old champion in the past two years, to the second position with 58.55 billion baht falling by 15.63% or 10.84 billion baht. The third richest family in the SET is Kanjanapas with 45.05 billion baht worth of shares, down by 4.34 billion baht. (TNA)
