Prime Minister Opens 9th Doha Jewelry and Watches Exhibition

Doha, February 20 (QNA) - HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani opened this evening the Ninth Doha jewelry and watches exhibition at the Doha Exhibition Centre. The opening session was attended by a number of Their Excellencies sheikhs, a number of heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar and a number of businessmen. The HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister toured the various pavilions , where he was briefed by the exhibitors about top brands and trademarks showcased by the participating companies. Around 400 exhibitors are showcasing the latest offerings of about 450 international brands specializing in fine jewellery and watches High profile international brands at the show includes Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Audemers Piguet, Richard Mille and Montblanc, Chopard, Chanel, Vacheron Constantin and Piaget, Zenith, Damiani, Maurice Lacroix and Ladoire, Palmiero, Jacob & Co, Concord and Franc Vila, Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Century, Ebel and Giovanni Ferraris. The Doha Jewellery and watches exhibition at its eighth edition attracted more than 40 thousand visitors from home and abroad, especially from neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE. By organizing such events the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) aims to promote the State of Qatar as an ideal and first destination for business, specialized conferences as well as cultural , education, sports events and entertainment.
