Public Sector Commercial Banks Deposits Value Increased in September

Doha, November 05 (QNA) - The public sector commercial banks deposits value increased reaching QR 302.6 billion during September 2017, registering a monthly increase of 2.5 percent and an annual increase of 68.4 percent in comparison to the value of banks deposits during the same month last year. The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics revealed this in the 45th edition of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin which contains various social and economic statistical indicators related to Qatar during the month of September 2017 in addition to highlights from census 2015 survey results. The demographic statistics showed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.55 million during September 2016 to more than 2.63 million at end of September 2017, registering an annual increase of 3.2 percent. With regards to the vital statistics, a total number of 2,103 live births has been registered during September 2017, on the other hand, 175 death cases were recorded during the same period. On another aspect, the total number of registered marriages was 284 marriages during September 2017, whereas the total no of divorces has reached 74 divorce cases. In regard with social security value, the month of September 2017 has witnessed a significant increase in number of social security beneficiaries as it has reached 14,220 individuals, whereas the total value of social security has reached QR 81.1 billion during September 2017. In regards to electricity and water consumption rates, the bulletin showed that the total electricity utilization value during September 2017 was 4,383.3 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 5.6 percent as compared with last month. The bulletin also showed that the total value of water consumption has reached 43,064.7 thousand cubic meters during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 5.2 percent as compared with last month. As for the buildings permit's information, the bulletin showed that total number of permits has reached 472 permits during September 2017, and thus recorded a monthly decrease of 34.4 percent in comparison with the previous month August 2017. With regard to traffic cases, a total of 417 traffic cases were recorded during September 2017, showing in a monthly decrease of 7.3 percent in comparison with the previous month August 2017 where it has reached only 450 traffic cases. At the same instance, 11 death cases were recorded during September 2017. The bulletin also highlighted that the total number of registered vehicles has reached 4,140 new vehicles during September 2017. The figure has registered a monthly decrease of 23.6 percent compared to last August 2017, where the total number of registered vehicles was 5,420 new vehicles. Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about QR 564.8 billion during the month of September 2017 showing an annual increase of 14.5 percent compared with September 2016 from last year. On the other hand, cash equivalents (including deposits) attained for 797.8 Billion Qatari Riyal during September 2017. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 17.5 percent in comparison with September 2016 from last year, as it recorded approximately QR 679.1 billion. (QNA)
