PUNB To Bring 25 M'sian Entrepreneurs Into Int'l Domain -- Chairman

By Azlee Nor Mahmud KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 (Bernama) -- Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) aims to bring 25 Malaysian entrepreneurs into the international domain by 2025. Chairman Hazimah Zainuddin said in the immediate term, nine Malaysian entrepreneurs had been identified to join a trade mission to Taipei on June 17-21, 2019, in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation’s (MATRADE) team in Taiwan. “This is the first time that PUNB is bringing entrepreneurs to the international scene in conjunction with the Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s 29th Taipei International Food Show (Food Taipei),” she told Bernama Friday. “I think (it) is very suitable, the intention to develop entrepreneurs at grass root level when they commenced the business and (eventually) want to expand the business. We will develop them further,” she said. “PUNB is not a financial institution...we will assist them in getting access to financing, nurture them as well as hand-hold them (businesses) to make sure their businesses are successful,” she added. Hazimah said PUNB is currently in the midst of bringing businesses to make international forays, whereby the identified companies will join PUNB in Taiwan. Food Taipei is an international exhibition, wherein one-third of the exhibitors comprise international companies showcasing their diverse food cultures. The exhibition features a comprehensive range of food, equipment, technologies, and packaging for the food processing industry, as well as all kinds of food processing and packaging machines, materials, systems and products under one roof. With the presence of an estimated 1,150 exhibitors from 40 countries, the food exhibition is expected to have large-scale business-matching meetings with buyers/exhibitors aiming to seek partners or rights acquisition. -- BERNAMA
