Qatar Central Securities Depository Issues April Report

Doha, May 05 (QNA) - Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) presented its main procedures during the month of April, which included custody, recording, management, acquisition, clearing and settlement of securities and derivatives and other financial instruments; the provision of related financial services; the transfer of ownership of executed contracts through trading and remittances; in addition to the implementation of all mortgage and decommissioning and foreclosure operations at the request of the relevant parties. QCSD also updated a number of shareholders' statements and added new shareholders.
In its monthly report, QCSD provided figures and statistics illustrating the main activities carried out during April. In ownership transfer of the third market, the QCSD conducted 422 family transfers. The company also conducted 573 inheritance transfers and 9 exception transfers were made in April.
The number of shareholders recognized in the company's system during April reached 395,958 shareholders, while the number of shareholders with a bank account was 53,201 shareholders in April. Also in April, 43 mortgage transactions were registered and 596 mortgage release transactions were issued in April. The company also registered 116 account opening operations in April and issued 12,807 account statements and 712 to whom it may concern certificates were issued in April.
The number of shareholders recognized by the system according to nationality (Qatari and non-Qatari) and type of shareholder (individuals and institutions) reached 236,664 Qatari shareholding individuals in April and the number of shareholders from Qatari institutions was 1,380 in April.
The number of non-Qatari shareholders in April of this year was 156,887, shareholders from non-Qatari institutions reached 1,027.
QCSD also registered treasury bills issued by Qatar Central Bank (QCB) for April in its systems. Treasury bills (T-Bills) were registered with a date of issue on 2nd April
The T-Bills included three-month treasury bills with the value of QR 300 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 30,000 and a maturity date of 02/07/2019. It also included six-month treasury bills issued with the value of QR 200 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 20,000 and a maturity date of 01/10/2019.
The QCSD also registered nine-month treasury bills issued by QCB with the value of QR 100 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 10,000 and a maturity date of 07/01/2020.
QCSD also increased Qatar Insurance Company capital through the private share issuance 7,704,258 shares, the new capital is 326,610,133 shares. In addition, QCSD modified the individual’s ownership limit of Gulf Warehousing Company to be 35 percent of the capital, which is equal to 20,511,102 shares.
QCSD also modified the foreigners' ownership limit of Qatar Oman Investment Company to be 49 percent of the capital, which is equal to 15,435,000 shares.
Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) also decided to proceed with the stock split for the listed companies in Qatar Exchange starting from the 9th June 2019 until 7th July 2019.
QCSD also launched the new mobile app for its customers that supports both Arabic and English languages. (QNA)
