Qatar Chamber Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with Chinese Trade Delegation

Doha, September 09 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber (QC) held on Sunday a meeting with a Chinese trade delegation headed by Deputy Director General of China Foreign Trade Center Bing Xu, where both sides discussed the joint cooperation in different sectors. During the meeting, QC received an invitation to participate in the 124th China Import and Export Fair "Canton Fair 2018", which is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Guangdong Province and organized by China Foreign Trade Centre. The fair will be held mid-October. Bing Xu highlighted the importance of the fair which is the biggest of its kind in China in terms of volume of goods offered and number of exhibitors and visitors. He added that the fair includes three departments: electronics and household electrical appliances, consumer goods and office supplies, cases & bags, and recreation products and medical devices and health products. He said the fair reflects the development of China's foreign trade and its policies of policy of reform and openness. He added that Canton Fair 2018 aims to promote its role as a vital platform for strong trade opportunities and to create a better business environment and a more open market to the world. QC first vice-chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar highlighted the importance of the strong economic and trade relations between the private sector in Qatar and its counterpart in China. He added that the chamber urges Qatari businessmen and companies to participate in Canton Fair 2018, which is one of the most prominent trade exhibitions in China. (QNA)
