Qatar Chamber Launches 12th Session of Customs Clearance Program

Doha, November 01 (QNA) - The 12th session of the training and rehabilitation for the customs brokers started at Qatar Chamber with the participation of 45 customs agents and representatives in cooperation with the General Authority of Customs. The program aims to qualify the employees in the field of customs clearance and help them obtain knowledge of customs clearance regulations and procedures. It also seeks to raise the efficiency of the performance of workers in this sector, to provide distinctive customs services to the public of dealers and reduce the congestion at the customs outlets, and provides scientific and practical training for trainees that would have a positive impact for those dealing with customs from exporters or importers or travelers. Head of the Training and Development Department at Qatar Chamber Laila Al Munfaridi, said that the cooperation between Qatar Chamber and the General Authority of Customs has resulted in organizing 11 successful courses which have contributed to the qualification of more than 550 trainees, the program has succeeded in defining the interest of facilitating customs work and trade movement in general. The program, which has 95 training hours over 17 days, has a number of articles dealing with procedures and customs exemptions, customs clearance, outstanding conditions of fees and rules. It also focuses on commercial and customs terms, international agreements, customs law, for customs agents. (QNA)
