Qatar Chamber Launches New Electronic Platform to Develop Service Sector in Qatar

Doha, October 10 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber announced that it will soon launch the first interactive electronic platform to develop the services sector in the country, where businessmen will be able to communicate with the Committee to present all the ideas and proposals that contribute to the development of this sector. This came during a meeting held by the Chamber's Services Committee today, during which the committee was restructured to include executive representatives from all government agencies concerned with service sector, including the Ministry of Municipality, the Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, General Authority of Customs, Qatar Port Management Company and representatives from the private sector. Board Member of Qatar Chamber and Chairman of the Chamber's Services Committee Eng. Ali Abdul Latif al Misnad, said that the new platform, which is an initiative of Qatar Chamber to contribute to the development and enhancement of the performance of the services sector in the country, will include all those concerned with the development of the services sector, private and public, in order to study and discuss all issues related to the service sector and work to develop the sector in line with the economic development witnessed by the country. The Service Committee is monitoring the implementation of the strategic plans prepared by the State on the service sector, review, follow up and activate the laws and legislations and submit appropriate recommendations thereon to the competent authorities, as well as study the problems and obstacles that limit the launching of service activities and reduce their contribution to the GDP and find solutions to those problems, in addition to activating the sector, and attending or holding seminars, conferences and related workshops.
