Qatar Chamber Looks to Enhance Cooperation with Turkish Furniture Sector

Doha, January 10 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber held Wednesday a meeting with a business delegation from Turkey which included 21 leaders of companies operating in the furniture industry. The meeting looked to explore the scope for enhancing cooperation.
Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari said that the chamber was keen on enhancing cooperation between Qatari businessmen and their Turkish counterparts, in order to achieve further growth and prosperity that will serve the industry well in the two countries.
He noted that Qatar Chamber signed a number of agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with many of its Turkish counterparts. The chamber signed Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey to facilitate the establishment of alliances and partnerships between Qatari and Turkish companies.
Al Towar said that more than 200 companies operate in the Qatari market in a number of industries. The total investments Turkish construction companies are working on exceed the $11.6 billion, most of which are related to the Qatar 2022 projects. Qatar's investment in Turkey is the second-most for the country, valued at $20 billion. Those investments are likely to increase once the recent agreements signed kick off. (QNA)
