Qatar, Lahore Chambers Discuss Cooperation in Food, Pharmaceutical Sectors

Doha, November 09 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber held a meeting on Thursday with a delegation from Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by former Executive Committee Member Nasira Taskeen in a bid to explore investment opportunities and available partnerships in the food, agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors. Qatar Chamber Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Tawar pointed to the keenness of the Qatari private sector and businessmen to double their investments in food industries, calling on the Pakistani side to review investment opportunities in the Qatari market in the field of foods and agriculture. He reiterated Qatar Chamber's keenness on boosting communication with the Pakistani business community so as to benefit the private sector in both countries, highlighting the importance of exchanged visits and business meetings organized by Qatar Chamber and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in paving the way for further bilateral cooperation. In turn, Taskeen said that Pakistan is known for agriculture and has experts in food security programs, especially with regards to water agriculture in hydroponics as well as the pharmaceutical sector in which it enjoys leading status, with its manufactured medicines exported to several European countries, making these two sectors a great platform for bilateral cooperation.
