Qatar Shell Hosts a Workshop for 36 High School Students

Doha, February 27 (QNA) - Qatar Shell Company hosted Monday a workshop for 36 high school students at Qatar Shell Research & Technology Centre (QSRTC) based at the Qatar Science & Technology Park in line with Qatar University's (Al Bairaq educational programme). The workshop itself happens to be an orientation to the high school students to Qatar Science & Technology Park, introducing them to the oil and gas sector along with informing them about the Natural Gas Liquefaction Technology (NGLT) and safety tests, a Qatar Shell statement released here on Monday said. Being an anchor tenant at the Qatar Science & Technology Park, Shell has signed a joint agreement earlier on October with Qatar University thus -Shell- being the exclusive sponsor of 12 students at Al Bairaq's educational programme, promoting for researches and academic studies to High school students. General manager of Science and technology park,Yusuf Saleh said that they are supporting this educational chapter as being a unique step by Qatar university to produce a generation of scientists and engineers in line with human development scheme of Qatar's 2030 vision, expressing his hopes that the workshop becomes fruitful to the participating students. Qatar Shell has allocated 100 Million dollars for the upcoming projects pertaining the innovative technology and development plans during the next 10 years, the company opened as well the (QSRTC) in April 2008 that has introduced many achievements since then.
