Qatar Stocks Make Good Gains in March

Doha, April 03 (QNA) - Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 483.88 points, or 4.89%, when it closed trading at 10,376.20 points on March 31 compared to the month of February 2016. QSE's market capitalization of QR 554.03 Billion is an increase by 5.39% from 22 days of trading compared to QR 525.69 Billion in February that 20 trading days. The traded value of QR 9.08 Billion records an 38.21% increase in March compared to QR 6.569 Billion in February 2016. The volume of 268,634,147 shares exchanged registers 36.01% increase in March compared to 197,514,037 shares traded in February 2016. The 122,992 transactions in March is an increase by 22.06% compared to 100,763 in the previous month. Banks and financial services sector topped the traded value in March with 38.34% of the total value followed by industries (22.29%), real estate (13.93%), consumer goods and services (10.95%), telecoms (7.18%), transport (5.28%), and insurance (2.04%). Banks and financial services topped the traded volume in March with 83,719,048 or 31.16% of the total volume of 268,634,147 shares followed by real estate (21.43%), industries (18.48%), consumer goods and services (11.57%), telecoms (11.07%), transport (5.14%), and insurance (1.14%).
