Qatar's Economy Grows 4.3% in Third Quarter of 2022

Doha, January 11 (QNA) - Qatar's quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices increased by 4.3% y-o-y in the third quarter of 2022.
According to data released today by the Planning and Statistics Authority, the quarterly GDP at constant prices is estimated at QR 175.028 billion in Q3 of 2022, compared to the estimate of Q3 of 2021 which was QR 167.782 billion, representing an increase of 4.3%. When compared to Q2 of 2022 revised estimate, the quarterly GDP recorded an increase of 3.6% at QR 168.879 billion.
The quarterly GDP at current prices in Q3 of 2022 is estimated at QR 228.423 billion. This represents an increase of 30.7% compared to the estimate of Q3 of 2021 placed at QR 174.814 billion. When compared to previous quarter (Q2) of 2022 revised estimate of QR 216.468 billion, an increase of 5.5% is recorded.
The nominal gross value added (GVA) estimate of Mining and Quarrying activities is estimated at QR 105.896 billion in Q3 2022, which shows an increase of 56.2% over the estimate of Q3 2021 placed at QR 67.812 billion. Compared to the previous quarter Q2 2022 revised estimate (QR 98.086 billion), an increase of 0.8% in the GVA of this sector is recorded.
The real GVA of these activities is estimated at QR 64.377 billion in Q3 2022, which shows an increase of 2.7% compared to the estimate of Q3 2021 (QR 62.685 billion). Compared to Q2 2022 revised estimate (QR 63.884 billion), an increase of 0.8% in the real GVA of this sector is also recorded.
The nominal GVA of Non-Mining and Quarrying activities is estimated at QR 122.527 billion in Q3 2022, which shows an increase of 14.5% over the estimate of Q3 2021 (QR 107.002 billion). Compared to the previous quarter Q2 2022 revised estimate (QR 118.382 billion), an increase of 6.9% is recorded.
The real GVA of Non-Mining and Quarrying activities is estimated at QR 110.651 billion in Q3 2022, which shows an increase of 5.3% over the estimate of the Q3 2021 (QR 105.097 billion). When compared to Q2 2022 revised estimate (QR 104.995 billion), an increase of 5.4% is also recorded. (QNA)
