QBWA, Australian embassy Celebrate International Women's Day

Doha, March 05 (QNA) - Qatari Business Women Association (QBWA) and the Embassy of Australia celebrated International Women's Day 2019, with the attendance of Qatari and Australian businesswomen, entrepreneurs and representatives from different sectors. The event included a panel discussion on women's work in all sectors of the State of Qatar, with speakers from Qatar and Australia working in managerial positions and in various fields. The speakers focused on their practical experience and reviewed the challenges and opportunities facing women working in Qatar and other countries in the world, as well as highlighting the most important lessons learned and professional advice for women seeking to establish or develop their businesses in Qatar or abroad. Discussions also focused on the issues of working women, such as returning to work after childcare leave, how to harmonize family and work requirements, and how to deal with exceptional circumstances such as travelling to work and training. HE Australian Ambassador to Qatar is Dr. Axel Wabenhorst highlighted the successes made by Qatari women, stressing the importance of such meetings to enhance communication and exchange of experiences between businesswomen in Qatar and Australia. QBWA vice chairwoman Aisha Alfardan highlighted the importance of this discussion session, which is held for the first time among businesswomen from Qatar and Australia, organized by the Australian Embassy and the Association. She also expressed pride in the achievements of Qatari women in various fields. International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8th, where the theme for this year is "Balance for Better."
