QC Discusses Investment Prospects with Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Doha, April 24 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber held a meeting Wednesday with the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss cooperation and coordination to serve the business and trade sectors in the two countries. The two sides discussed a number of important issues, including arrangements for mutual visits of trade delegations and overcoming obstacles facing investors from both sides, which would contribute to boosting the volume of trade and investment between Qatar and Australia. During the meeting, QC Board member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli reviewed the most important services provided by the QC to the private sector, as well as its external activities and the consequent membership in the joint Arab and foreign chambers of commerce. Al Obaidli highlighted Qatar's attractive business environment for foreign investments thanks to its legislations and laws that promote and protect foreign and domestic investments. For his part, Chair of the Arab Australia Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Queensland Simon Harrison said that a delegation of Australian businessmen and investors will visit Doha in November to meet with their Qatari counterparts in order to build partnerships and alliances that benefits the two economies. He stressed the keenness of the two chambers to bring the two countries' business community closer to further increase cooperation between the private sectors in Qatar and Australia. He also hoped that Australian investors would learn about investment opportunities in Qatar, especially with the existence of successful joint investments between employers in both countries in sectors including agriculture, food, infrastructure and others.
