QDB to Launch Initiative to Support Home Farming

Doha, August 15 (QNA) - Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Development Bank (QDB) Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa revealed plans to launch an initiative to support and encourage home farming where a specific amount will be allocated for each home participates in the initiative. In remarks on the sidelines of his participation in KAHRAMAA second Forum for Creativity and Innovation, Al Khalifa said that the Bank has initiatives with the General Authority for Specification and Standardization for the construction of green houses in Qatar on the basis of providing specifications to contribute to cost savings by providing homeowners with a list of companies and service providers who can help in this regard, aiming at establishing environment-friendly homes that save electricity and water consumption. He noted that many government institutions are aiming to the local market at the first place to meet their needs of commodities and materials in accordance with the QDB initiatives with those institutions such KAHRAMAA and Ashghal. Meanwhile, Al Khalifa said that QDB deals daily with entrepreneurs and innovators, noting that the Bank's management is aware of the importance of creativity to better communication with entrepreneurs and easy delivery of ideas. Thus, Qatar Development Bank organizes periodic competitions to enrich the Bank's creative ideas and innovation, he noted, adding that the bank has also adopted a new approach in advertising the various products.
