Rafsanjani Recalls Sacred Defense Era As Experience Of Adopting Resistance Economy

Tehran, Aug 6, IRNA – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Sunday the Sacred-Defense era experience and post-war management provide officials with a good and bright ground for implementation of the new policy of Resistance Economy. According to Public Relations Department of the Expediency Council, Rafsanjani told a group of ulema and clergymen that under wise and sound management and following soft diplomacy of detente would enable the country to leave behind the ongoing sensitive juncture. He called for efficient and skilled officials to properly implement the Resistance Economy specific policies. Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a late July speech, called on the government to adopt a "Resistance Economy" to thwart the sanctions. The Supreme Leader defined the policy as "correcting consumption patterns, cutting waste, doubling efforts, democratization of economy, strengthening the private sector, and reducing Iran's dependence on oil."/end
