Regular flights start at Hua Hin airport

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, May 18 (TNA) – AirAsia inaugurates its Hua Hin-Kuala Lumpur service which for the first time introduces regular flights to Hua Hin airport in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Deputy Transport Minister Pailin Chuchottaworn and other transport authorities welcomed the inaugural flight carrying 150 people, mostly Malaysian businesspeople and tourists. Hua Hin airport had served only chartered flights and the regular service would boost the economy of Prachuap Khiri Khan and the whole country, he said. He assured that his ministry would further develop Hua Hin airport by connecting it to water transport through the Hua Hin-Pattaya ferry service and a high-speed railway through Prachuap Khiri Khan. AirAsia operates four round trips between Hua Hin and Kuala Lumpur on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with 180-seater Airbus 320. Hua Hin airport is capable of handling up to 300 people a day. (TNA)
