Richard, Patterson visit Beirut Chamber: For increasing economic cooperation

NNA - US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Anne Patterson, and US Ambassador to Lebanon, Elizabeth Richard, visited on Tuesday Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber at the invitation of its President Mohammed Shoucair. A meeting took place at the Chamber in the presence of magnates of the Lebanese private sector touching on means of bolstering economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and steps that can be undertaken by the United States to support the Lebanese economy. US Embassy Economic Attaché Neeman Tayyar and a number of consultants were also present. In her delivered word, Ambassador Richard expressed admiration of the dynamism enjoyed by the Lebanese private sector, underlining the US support to the Lebanese economy and placing potentials in the service of increasing economic and trade cooperation and bolstering ties between the private sectors of both countries. Patterson, for her part, heaped praises on the role undertaken by the military institution in the fight against terrorism, affirming the US continual support to the Lebanese army. Patterson also stressed that the United States will work to develop and strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries.
