RM108 Million Batik Sale From January To August

KOTA BHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia) Oct 5 (Bernama) – The value of batik sale generated in the country reached RM108 million for the period from January to August this year, Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation (MHDC) director general Ibrahim Ismail said. He said the sales value of batik dominated the local craft industry compared to the sales value of other craft products. "I am confident that the value of batik sale will continue to surge higher through the quality recognition implemented," he told reporters after launching the Malaysian Batik MS 692 Standard Compliance Certificate Presentation Ceremony at the Kelantan Branch MHDC here Thursday. Meanwhile, Ibrahim said MHDC was also pleased to deliver the Malaysian Batik MS 692 Standard Compliance Certificate to 11 batik craft entrepreneurs who produced quality products in accordance with the standards set. -- BERNAMA
