Road accidents cost Iran $18b annually: Iranian official

TEHRAN,Feb.7(MNA) - Road accidents per annum cost Iran 220 trillion rials (about $18 billion), ISNA quoted head of the national transportation research center Mahmoud Ameri as saying. Five main factors, namely human errors, vehicle faults, inappropriate roads, bad weather, and improper laws, lead to road accidents across the country, he added. The most important factor is human errors, which accounts for 65-70 percent of road accidents, the official said.
