Russia and Kuwait sign documents on cooperation in defense technology, oil and gas spheres

SOCHI, November 10. /TASS/. Russian-Kuwaiti summit talks culminated on Tuesday in signing a package of documents, particularly on defense technology cooperation and interaction in oil and gas spheres. Memorandum of intent in defense technology cooperation between Russian defense supplier Rosoboronexport and Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, memorandum of understanding on cooperation in oil and gas sphere between Gazprom and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and agreement on investments between the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Kuwait Investment Authority were signed in presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The agreement on investments provides for expansion of the investment partnership, RDIF said. The Kuwait Investment Authority will further allocate $500 mln for investments into projects in Russia in cooperation with RDIF. Intergovernmental agreement on visa-free travels for holders of diplomatic, service and special passports, memorandum of understanding on cultural matters and memorandum of understanding on cooperation in transport sphere were also signed during the visit of Emir of Kuwait.
