Russia, China agree on broader China IT supplies
MOSCOW, August 18 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and China agreed on China’s broader IT supplies to Russia, Minister of Telecommunications and Mass Communications Nikolai Nikiforov said in his Twitter account on Monday.
The countries reached the agreement at working meetings with Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei and chief of the Chinese media administration Cai Fuchao in Beijing, the Russian minister said. “We agreed to broaden delivery of Chinese servers, storage systems and other IT products to Russia,” Nikiforov said. Meanwhile, the two countries agreed on expansion of Russian software supplies in China, he said.
“China and Russia call consistently for a multilateral transparent management model of critical resources of Internet infrastructure,” Nikiforov said.
The Russian telecommunications minister said earlier that the country planned to replace gradually U.S. IT products with other developments in view of sanctions imposed on Russia.
