Russian businesspeople interested in investing in transportation project

BANGKOK, Nov 17 (TNA) - Russia investors are interested in Thailand’s construction project of transportation network in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and will visit the site for gathering first-hand information, said Russian ambassador to Thailand, Kirill Barsky. The ambassador paid a visit to Deputy Prime Minister, Air Chief Marshal Prajin Janthong at Government House. Both sides enjoyed close relations between the two countries and hoped for closer ties in the future. During the meeting, Russian ambassador proposed energy cooperation, particularly nuclear power and hydro power, saying Russia has expertise in technology in power production, which is safe for community and environment. In response to this, Thai Deputy prime minister said he would discuss the issue with agencies concerned. Russia also showed interest in investing in transportation projects in Thailand, particularly the construction of transportation network in the EEC. Russia plans to bring Russian businesspeople to visit Thailand to see the potential and the EEC infrastructure soon. ACM Prajin said Thailand welcomed their planned visit and would give full details about investment in the EEC project to Russian businesspeople. (TNA)
