Share of Russian natural gas export to Asia-Pacific nations will grow to 41% - Deputy Energy Minister

MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. According to estimates of the Russian Energy Ministry, the share of Asia-Pacific nations in the Russian gas export structure will grow to 41% and the share of LNG supplies will reach 23%, Deputy Energy Minister Kirill Molodtsov said on Monday. "The ‘eastern vector’ of Russian energy policy becomes the priority one at present. Mutually beneficial cooperation of Russia and Asia-Pacific nations on efficient use of abundant energy resources of the East Siberia and the Far East is the key to the stable socioeconomic development of the region," Molodtsov said The resource potential of the East Siberia and the Far East where more than 16.2% of total Russian natural gas resources are concentrated becomes particularly important, Molodtsov said. The share of the East Siberia and the Far East will grow to 15% in the total gas production in Russia by 2035. TASS reported earlier the Energy Strategy-2035 prepared by the Russian Energy Ministry forecasts the increase of natural gas supplies to the Asia-Pacific market, including LNG, from 14 to 128 bln cubic meters.
