Sharjah roadshow to USA concludes

New York: Sharjah's delegation to the USA concluded their roadshow in New York with a series of meetings that saw large-scale participation from representatives of the US business, culture and tourism communities.
The delegation held a number of meetings throughout the two-day roadshow in New York, where they highlighted the highly Emirate's competitive industrial, business and service offerings as well as the many facilities and incentives offered to investors.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre and Head of the delegation was delighted with the warm welcome and keen interest shown by the US representatives during the various meetings. He said: "This roadshow is a momentous step forward that will significantly contribute to boosting cooperation with various sectors in the USA. We have been able to better highlight Sharjah and its vibrant economic sectors during our meetings in Washington DC and New York. We have, also, presented the most important local and international events hosted in the Emirate. We will continue to work and communicate with the US corporations and entities to obtain fruitful results".
He added: "We have noticed keen interest from our US counterparts to learn more about the emirate of Sharjah and the investment opportunities available as well as to explore avenues of cooperation. The strong large-scale delegation that included representatives from 21 public and private sector entities was instrumental in highlighting the different sectors in Sharjah. All members of the delegation have one goal in mind - to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in developing the emirate of Sharjah".
Sheikh Sultan extended thanks to all of the members of the delegation for their outstanding efforts, which significantly contributed to representing the country, reflecting the civilised image of the Emirate and achieving the best possible results from the Shurooq-organised roadshow.
As part of New York roadshow, a business session was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel with over 100 representatives of New York based corporations and authorities, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Head of the delegation, and directors of the participating entities. Sharjah's vital investment sectors, its business offerings and the investor-friendly climate and the favourable regulatory framework that make the Emirate a safe haven for investors were highlighted in the meeting.
The delegation delivered a number of presentations that focused on the huge potentials that the UAE and Sharjah, in particular, enjoy, and the untapped business and investment opportunities available for foreign investors who seek to enter the UAE and global markets and benefit from the UAE's strategic position as one of the most important business and financial centres in the region and beyond. The most important investment sectors available in the Emirate as well as rewarding opportunities were highlighted during the session.
Shurooq CEO Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, said: "We seek to realise the vision of H. H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in developing the Emirate and growing various sectors as well as to strengthen cooperation with various countries around the world to enhance Sharjah's position on the global business map. Thanks to the guidance and follow-up of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), we have been able to make impressive strides towards this goal. We believe that this goal can be achieved only through collaboration and joint efforts with all government authorities and departments in the Emirate as well as with vital private sector involvement." He added: "The UAE and USA enjoy great business potential and are in position to expand bilateral investment and trade relations. Meeting with CNN, National Geographic and Bloomberg As part of Sharjah's roadshow in the USA, a delegation, headed by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre, visited three renowned US media corporations, where ways of cooperation and the exchange of experience were explored.
The delegation visited CNN and the National Geographic in Washington D.C. and Bloomberg in New York, where the delegation met with senior officials and directors from the three corporations to be familiarised with their various media facilities. Members of the delegation listened to a brief about the mechanism of work, strategy and modern technologies used in these satellite channels.
In this regard, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre, Head of Sharjah delegation, said: "Media play a key role in progress. As the media sector enjoys support, a favourable environment and regulations, we have embarked on building our media corporations in accordance with the standards excellence. Our meetings with reputed media firms in the USA provided opportunities to discuss possibility of cooperation and be familiarised with advanced experience and successful models".
