Shrimp fair to help farmers in progress

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) -- Tesco Lotus, one of major shopping malls in Thailand, is now organising a "2018 Eating Shrimp Fair" in an attempt to assist shrimp raisers and simultaneously helping people to consume shrimp at reasonable prices. Its branch in Bang Yai district of Bangkok’s neighbouring province of Nonthaburi has been organising the fair from Friday until this Sunday. Farmers of Whiteleg Shrimp and Black Tiger Shrimp in four southern provinces of Surat Thani, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Pattani are selling the delicious shrimps at the shopping mall. Shoppers will find over 20 delicious menus made from shrimps at Tesco Lotus and prices are also reasonable. The raisers also plan to supply about 400 tonnes of shrimp to Tesco Lotus between June and July. Shrimp prices in Thailand are declining steadily due to oversupply while people also at the same time are reluctant to buy them because of high prices. (TNA)
