SKorean businesses invited to invest in Thailand

BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA, March 22 (TNA) - Visiting Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, who oversees economic affairs, has invited South Korean business operators in Busan to invest in Thailand. Expressing his appreciation to South Korea's expertise in water management, electric train systems and seaport administration, Somkid made the invitation during his talks with Busan’s Mayor Suh Byung-soo on March 21, when he reportedly told the Busan’s mayor that the Thai government is reforming basic infrastructure and should start investing in the new projects by mid-2016. Somkid informed the Busan’s mayor that special incentives would be extended to foreign business operators investing in Thailand and the Thai government would persuade potential Thai investors to co-invest with their South Korean counterparts. According to the deputy premier, the Thai government wants to develop digital economy, information and communication technology (ICT) and water management. The deputy prime minister is leading a Thai business delegation to visit South Korea during March 21-24 to discuss business opportunities of both countries. (TNA)
