Smart Park may apply Japanese know-how

TOKYO, March 16 (TNA) -- The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) may adopt “Japan Model” to develop its Smart Park project. IEAT governor Verapong Chaiperm led staff responsible for the development of industrial estates to inspect technologies and innovations in Japan to find good solutions for the IEAT’s Smart Park and other industrial estates in the Eastern Economic Corridor. The Smart Park will accommodate the new industries that the government is promoting. They include the digital industry, robotics, aerospace and logistics and medical hubs. The IEAT is studying worldwide technologies and solutions to prepare for its industrial estate development. Its studies cover the application of innovations and technologies in business development, information and communication technologies, security systems and logistics. The construction of the Smart Park is expected to begin in either 2019 or 2020 and its initial opening is set for 2021. In the Smart Park there will be clean industries, modern public utilities, a commercial centre for local residents and a large-scaled convention centre. (TNA)
