Sold Properties Increases by 18.4 Percent in January

Doha, March 06 (QNA) - Number of sold properties increased by 309 properties, registering a monthly increase of 18.4 percent in comparison to the number of sold properties during December 2017. In its 49th edition of (Qatar: Monthly Statistics), the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics includes various social and economic statistical indicators related to Qatar during the month of January 2018 in addition to highlights from census 2015 survey results. The demographic statistics showed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.58 million during January 2017 to more than 2.64 million at end of January 2018, registering an annual increase of 2.6 percent. In regard to vital statistics, a total number of 2,231 live births has been registered during January 2018, on the other hand, 209 death cases were recorded during the same period. On another aspect, the total number of registered marriages was 304 marriages during January 2018, whereas the total no of divorces has reached 105 divorce cases. In regard to social security value, the month of January 2018 has witnessed a significant decrease in number of social security beneficiaries as it has reached 13,845 individuals, whereas the total value of social security has reached QR 77.9 billion during January 2018. In regard to electricity and water consumption rates, the bulletin showed that the total electricity utilization value during January 2018 was 2,316.4 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 0.03 percent as compared with last month. The bulletin also showed that the total value of water consumption has reached 38392.9 thousand cubic meters during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 2.9 percent as compared with last month. As for the buildings permit's information, the bulletin showed that total number of permits has reached 941 permits during January 2018, and thus recorded a monthly increase of 34.2 percent in comparison with the previous month December 2017. In regard to traffic cases, a total of 580 traffic cases were recorded during January 2018, showing in a monthly decrease of 6.9 percent in comparison with the previous month December 2017 where it has reached only 623 traffic cases. At the same instance, 15 death cases were recorded during January 2018. The bulletin also highlighted that the total number of registered vehicles has reached 6,283 new vehicles during January 2018. The figure has registered a monthly increase of 21.1 percent compared to last December 2017, where the total number of registered vehicles was 5,189 new vehicles. Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about QR 598.9 billion during the month of January 2018 showing an annual increase of 19.6 percent compared with January 2017 from last year. On the other hand, cash equivalents (including deposits) attained for QR 803.2 billion during January 2018. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 9.1 percent in comparison with January 2017 from last year, as it recorded approximately QR 736 billion. (QNA)
