Some 27m Tons Rise In Horticultural Products Output During 9th, 10th Govts

Tehran, July 28, IRNA – Some 27 million tons of growth has been made in horticultural products during the 9th and 10th governments, according to an IRNA report. Agriculture plays a vital role in Iran's food security and it is one of the most important economic sectors. Horticultural products grew by 13.8 percent to more than 67.654 million during the 10th government from more than 59.442 million tons during the 9th government. In the meantime, more than 127.97 million tons of horticultural products were yielded during the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Arable lands, climatic diversity, natural resources such as forests, lands and rich genetic resources are advantages of Iranian agriculture, which plays an influential role in Gross Domestic Production, and increase in non-oil commodities exports./end
