State-owned banks, PTT, Thailand Post promote local products

BANGKOK, Oct 6 (TNA) -- Nine state-owned banks, PTT and Thailand Post join forces to promote local products that will be gathered and distributed through PTT gas stations and post offices. Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak presided over the agreement signing ceremony for the partnership at the head office of the Government Housing Bank on Oct 4. The agreement involves Government Housing Bank, Government Savings Bank, the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Krungthai Bank, Export-Import Bank of Thailand, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank, Islamic Bank of Thailand, Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation and Secondary Mortgage Corporation. The banks will provide financial services for the small and medium-sized producers of local outstanding products under the One Tambon One Product (OTOP) scheme at the gas stations of PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc. Their products will be gathered at the gas stations of PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc and delivered by personnel of Thailand Post. State-owned banks have 46.5 million customers and the customer base should be beneficial to the promotion of local products for the sake of the grass roots economy. (TNA)
