Super Bus starts running on Bangkok-Sakon Nakhon pilot route

SAKON NAKHON, Nov 16 (TNA) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Transport Co Ltd launched “Super Bus” on a pilot route from Bangkok to the northeastern province of Sakhon Nakhon to promote domestic tourism. Sakon Nakhon governor Witthaya Chanchalong presided over the launch of Super Bus at Wat Phra That Choeng Chum in Sakon Nakhon, also attended by Jirasak Yaowatsakul, president of company. The new model of VIP bus is 15 metres in length and is equipped with cocoon-like seat with massage option, free wifi and private battery charger for smart phone. Bus hostesses on the super bus wear local traditional dresses and speak local dialect. Food will be served during the trip to save travel time instead of a stop at a restaurant. Promotional prices will be available for super bus passengers in the first stage. The governor said that the project will stimulate tourism in the province as more people are expected to travel with the new bus to Sakon Nakhon. It will also promote local art and culture. Super buses will be later available for two more routes Bangkok-Chiang Mai and Bangkok-Phuket. (TNA)
