Suzhou Industrial Park Invites More Investments From Asean Industrial Players

From Anas Abu Hassan SUZHOU (China), Oct 21 (Bernama) -- The China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) is inviting more ASEAN industrial players, especially from Malaysia, to invest in the technology and manufacturing sectors. SIP Administrative Committee Publicity Department Director, Xia Fang said to date, more than 120 companies from Malaysia had invested in it with room for more enterprises to come onboard. "Total investments from the Malaysian companies as at end-2015 was more than US$1.87 billion (RM7.82 billion). "We are expecting more investments in future and greater participation from industrial players, especially from the Southeast Asian region," she told Bernama here. Xia was speaking after earlier meeting delegates of the China-ASEAN Media Journey on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road 2016 here. "With the recent 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative, we hope to get more industry players to boost investments in the SIP," she said. Located at east of Suzhou, SIP is spread over 288 square kilometres with more than 500 companies from Singapore and China, spearheading the industries since the park was established in 1994. --BERNAMA
