T-Kitchen's Frozen Nasi Dagang Penetrates Global Market
KUALA TERENGGANU (Terengganu), Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Terengganu, a state in the eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia, continues to strengthen its market for frozen nasi dagang, produced by Terengganu Kitchen Sdn Bhd (T-Kitchen), locally and globally by setting up a new factory costing RM2 million as well as undertaking aggressive promotions.
Nasi dagang is a local dish consists of rice and fish curry, normally eaten for breakfast.
Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said T-Kitchen, which is a subsidiary of Terengganu Incorporated, was capable of producing 130,000 packets of nasi dagang per month whereby 100,000 packets was for the Australian market.
T-Kitchen had also received good demand from Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines and China, he said.
“We have achieved another success story with the launching of T-Kitchen factory as well as the presentation of halal certification for T-Kitchen’s products,” he said after launching the T-Kitchen factory at the Chendering Industrial Estate here Monday.
T-Kitchen started producing frozen nasi dagang in March 2015 through research and development and cooperation with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Terengganu Science & Creativity Centre and Terengganu Entrepreneur Development Foundation.
Ahmad Razif also said the factory which is equipped with automatic packaging machine was able to produce 5,000 packets of nasi dagang daily.
"T-Kitchen has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Global Ikhwan Sdn Bhd, which will assist in marketing the products by T-Kitchen to all Ikhwan restaurant premises in Europe and Australia," he added.
