TAT launches "A Touch Of Thai Vehicles" campaign

BANGKOK, September 27 (TNA) - The state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a new campaign, dubbed “A Touch of Thai Vehicles” to promote outstanding local modes of transport in Bangkok and three other provinces as their unique charms to attract international tourists. Under the new campaign, launched by TAT on September 26, Tuk Tuk tricycles is the outstanding local mode of transport promoted in Bangkok, Ruae Hua Tong or tall-bow boats in the southern resort coastal Krabi Province, horse-drawn carriages in the northern Lampang Province and skylab three wheelers in the northeastern Loei Province. International travellers are invited to explore local tourism routes through the iconic modes of local transport in the four areas to experience traditional local Thai lifestyles. During Monday's event to launch the campaign, TAT offered handouts and introduced a mobile application on “A Touch of Thai Vehicle”, while announcing that interested travellers can also find more information by calling its hotline, 1672. Promoting local tourism is part of a TAT policy on helping distribute more income to rural Thai areas. (TNA)
